Principles of Service Coordination


Event Description

You will learn the laws and rules related to Service Coordination, the responsibilities and expectations of the Service Coordinator, and why this role is important to eligible Ohio children and families throughout their Early Intervention journey. The course consists of eight self-paced modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Early Intervention Services
Module 2: The IFSP Process Part 1
Module 3: The IFSP Process Part 2
Module 4: Monitoring Service Delivery
Module 5: Transition
Module 6: Role of the EI Service Coordinator on the Team
Module 7: Compliance
Module 8: Special Topics

Module Completion and Availability

Modules 1-5 must be completed sequentially. Modules 6-8 can be completed at any time. Module 1 and modules 6-8 are currently available on MyLearning. Modules 2-5 will be available by Oct 2021.

Testing Out

Modules 1-5 have a test-out option. To test out, you must have held an unexpired EISC or EISC Supervisor credential (of any tier) prior to July 1, 2019 and must still have an active EISC or EISC Supervisor credential. A code is required for the test-out test. Participants must submit their credential to get the test-out code and will have one chance to pass the test. Those who do not pass will be required to take the module. CPDUs are not provided for any module in which a participant tests out. Completion will be documented on the learner’s transcript.

Continuing Professional Development Units

Six CPDUs are provided for Module 1.
Ten CPDUs are provided for Module 6.
Eight CPDUs are provided for Module 7.
Ten CPDUs are provided for Module 8.
