Melissa Courts

Quality Improvement Consultant

Melissa joined Ohio Early Intervention (EI) in 2011, where her portfolio includes EI compliance monitoring and outreach and public awareness for the EI program. She represents the Department of Developmental Disabilities on the Ohio Child Care Advisory Council and is always seeking opportunities to support connections across family-serving programs. Melissa obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of Wooster and subsequently studied early childhood development at The Ohio State University, where she assisted in the establishment of the A. Sophie Rogers Lab School for Infants and Toddlers. It was during this time that she developed a passion for inclusion and quality childcare. For more than 35 years in the field, she has worked with numerous early childhood programs and systems-building initiatives, including in roles as a childcare licensing specialist and trainer, Healthy Child Care Ohio Coordinator, and state Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems Coordinator.
